Fridays Are For The Fellas...The Tie Bib!

34
I finally feel like I'm kind of getting back into the swing of things after our travels the beginning of the month. However, a good friend of mine once told me that she believed it took 6 days to recover for every day out of town or on vacation. If that's true, it will take me 2 months to recover! Several things have been on hold while I've been trying to unpack, clean up and just feel like I can think again.

Anyway, Fridays Are For The Fellas is back! Babies need bibs right? They slobber, spit up, and just don't always get milk or food in their mouths (they have so much to learn in those first few months). Bibs don't have to be boring though, even for your little guy...so here is the tie bib! It will take you less than 30 minutes and be oh so cute! :)

What you will need:
Fabric (I used flannel since it's absorbent)...2 colors
Velcro or snaps
Scissors
Sewing machine

First I found a baby bib to use as a pattern trace the bib shape onto my flannel. This bib is a newborn size, so it's pretty small.

Now cut your bib shape out 2 times so it will be a little thicker and more absorbent, and cut a slit in the top so the neck opens. I decided I wanted the rough edge on this one so I placed the two bib pieces together and sewed a zig zag stitch around the edges (you could also place right sides together and turn inside out if you want a clean edge finish).

Now the next part I completely forgot to take a picture of but take your second color of fabric (I used cotton) and draw a tie shape on it just big enough to fit on the bib. I just kind of eyed it until it looked right and cut out.

Next, sew your tie and Velcro onto the bib...and your done! :) I just sewed around the tie edges with a zig zag stitch and again the tie edges are rough finished. Now your little man can spit up, slobber, and eat in style!
