It's Friday! So here we go with another fun idea for your fella! With baby girls there are all sorts of fun bows, flowers, etc to make and accessorize and kind of change the outfit a bit.
I think this idea is just as much fun for a baby boy...a onesie with a snap so you can change a little bow tie on it! I love it! If I had a baby boy right now, he would be sporting this onesie. With some little jeans, I think it would be so cute for just about any day of the week...not just for church or special occasions.
And it is so quick and easy to make! Under a half hour for sure (depending on how many little bow ties you make) and a fun way to use up those scrap pieces of fabric.
So this is what you need:
Onsie
Snaps
Scrap fabric
All you need to do is make a simple bow tie. (Bow tie tutorial) Obviously you need to make the tie smaller since it's for a baby. This onesie I'm using is for a newborn so the dimensions I used for the tie was about 5 inches x 2 inches before any sewing. If you need help with turning those little tubes inside out go here. I did not put felt inside this bow tie, simply because it is so small so it holds the shape quite well.
Find the center of the onesie and place one side of the snap there. Then place the opposite side of the snap on the cute little bow tie!
You can have fun with these little ties and the material you choose. Dinosaurs, cars, airplanes, fire, superheros, trucks, etc. Or go a little more dressy and have some solid colors, stripes or plaid.
There you go! If you haven't "liked" our page yet on facebook (Along Came A Flower), head over and like it and share it! Go ahead and follow the blog too. There's so many other fun ideas to come and that will keep you in the know!
Have fun changing out those bow ties on your little man...and happy Friday!
