Each of my children have that one blankie that they love! They have had it from birth and even though we have several blankets, there's just one blankie. That blankie that makes everything better. That blankie that helps them go to sleep. That blankie that helps them feel safe wherever we are. That blankie that helps those boo-boos not so bad.
We never have let our children take their blanket anywhere (like to the store, the park, or church), but they like to have it in the car, to go to sleep, and sometimes just around the house. I'm okay with that...even for my 6 year old (his mostly just stays on his bed now, but he HAS to have it to sleep). I don't really think it's a big deal and I'm not going to take it from them. I think it's okay for them to use a blankie as long as they would like!
So when people have asked if there is anything so far I've noticed different between our boys and our girl this is what I've noticed so far...
She loves to have soft things on her face! She loves to have her special blankie over her face and then another soft blankie to lay on...(do you see her little head peaking out)! Blankie is from this cute online boutique. Watch for there sales and their blankets are quite reasonable! They are super soft and have great colors and designs.
She loves this soft bubble bee mat to sleep on (you could find the bumble bee hereor here)...
She loves cuddling! I think maybe more than I remember the boys cuddling! (And yes, she loves sucking her fingers...usually her thumb! She's our only thumb-sucker...the boys never were!) All of our babies have been quite easy-going and laid back, but she is even more. She is definitely not as active as the boys were as babies. Each of my boys were crawling at 6 or 7 months...not our little flower though. She's happy to just lay there and cuddle! I'll take that as long as I can though (I'm sure her daddy will too)!
She's very observant of things too. She loves examining things and looking at them closely and intently.
I love to see each of my children's personalities grow and expand! It is truly an amazing thing to watch. I guess my baby girl has brought a softer side to our family and has added a new dimension to my mothering. I feel so lucky to be each of their mommy!
So those are some of the things I've noticed are different between my baby boys and my girl! What things have you noticed that are different from your boys and girls?
