Before our little flower came along, we had 3 boys. We were one of those all boy families and I loved it! Our boys are very active and close in age so it was, still is, and probably always will be busy!
I'm so ever grateful for my boys, but man oh man they keep me on my toes! Already this morning, I have been locked out of my room, someone got into my lipstick, I've had one go potty outside (yes, grateful he didn't wet his pants but really, how hard is it to just run inside?!), had yogurt spill, and have had several in "time away." It's not even noon!
It has helped me so much to understand my little guys and what might work for them with discipline and just talking with them and continuing to enjoy them as they are developing their own unique personalities and interests. There are just certain ideas that boys respond better to than girls, and certain things that will work to turn on boys ears that I hadn't thought of before.
The author, Dr. Anthony Rao, explains so many different situations little boys may be in and helpful ideas to help them to grow and learn from those situations (like the boy who has to win, the bully, the boy that runs the house). And he explains how and why boys are different than girls in the way they think and why we can't just treat them the same.
Anyway, if you are a parent of little boys and ever struggle understanding how to help them, this book may help! I have loved reading it. I have tried some of Dr. Rao's ideas, and they have worked!
